A lot of what I shoot is for broadcast where I hand the footage off or it is a live broadcast.
Here are some samples of things I have worked on.
I have also shot some Instagram length clips for various organizations including Eclat Chocolate, P:ear and AKA PDX Gallery and Fitzgerald Jewelry
After a 5 year break I decided to jump back on the crew for WSOP Main Event broadcast. I shot a large portion of the opening tease, as well as responsible for shooting alternate angles, slow-mo, tights of chips and hands, time lapses and some bracelet shots. In previous years I also shot the feature player interviews and traveled for home visits.
Live events are always fun. Here are a few snippets from some things I have worked on the past few years. The Tony Hawk Vert Alert has become one of my new favorite events every year.
During the past few years I've done a series of corporate shoots for Hayzen's Productions based out of Greensboro, North Carolina. These are a solo shooter/producer role where I will work with a rep from Cogent to shoot interviews and B-roll with regional businesses. Hayzen's does the edit.
Worked with Benjamin Weintraub Media on a series of videos for ARG introducing the company and their different branches. I shot the interviews and a bulk of B-roll and Ben did the edit.
Mamma Tee’s is a great project based in Philadelphia that provides fresh produce and healthy food to underserved communities. It was an honor to help work on this project with Ben Weintraub (editor) to highlight the great work they are doing.
We did a series of Wendy’s shorts on site for the “Wendy’s Look-In” during the 2022 Aspen Winter X Games. This was a fun one to do.
Quick skit we did for the Inn at Aspen during the 2022 Winter X Games.
I’ve been working on a project with world renowned Eclat Chocolate showing the process of how a cocoa bean becomes delicious chocolate. Some clips have been used for social media posts and this loop is to play before Zoom presentations.
Over the past few years I’ve shot a few projects for the Harlem Globetrotters. I remember going to see them when I was a kid so these were super fun to work on. I did not do the edits, they were done by Echo Entertainment but I did shoot a majority of the footage.
Visiting the home of “Sweet Lou” Dunbar and shooting a piece with his son was an especially rad one for me. My dad took me to see the Globetrotters back when Lou was a player and I remember seeing him on Giligan’s Island. Who wouldn’t want to spend a day with one of the castaways?
I made a two part Instagram clip for Fitzgerald Jewelry in Brooklyn, NY highlighting their wax carving class. Here are both parts as one longer clip.
Each year P:EAR holds their annual P:EAR Blossoms fundraiser. Two years in a row I created a video for them as part of the call-to-action for donations. I was proud that the year this video played they had their highest donations to date. This project was shot over the course of nine months.
This is an Instagram edit I did for P:EAR to promote an art show at their gallery. P:ear is an awesome outreach group that works with homeless youth in Portland, OR. Check them out at https://www.pearmentor.org
I shot and edited this one for artist Tim Kerr to promote the opening of his show at AKA PDX in Portland, OR.
Quite a few years back I was sent to Italy to follow US Ski Team professional member Ted Ligity around for a few days to capture a day in the life of an alpine ski racer for an episode of NBC 36. This one was interesting because we went over with minimal credentials and just a few DSLR's before this became a norm. After airing it, it became part of the Delta Inflight entertainment for a while. Sadly, it’s only available in a pretty compressed format but was one of the most fun yet challenging things I have worked on.
On the way up the pipe stopped by to say hi to one of my favorite camera guys, Bill "Gordie" Reel. He's a former coach for the Canadian Alpine team, said the Ted Ligity 36 I worked on was one of the best ski shows he's seen.
The Salt Lake 2002 Winter Olympics was one of the events that would change my life. I reluctantly took a job as a driver for NBC but luckily was pared up with legendary DP Scott Duncan. He was shooting film for the special features unit so had a ton of gear, I became the unofficial 4th member of the crew and learned a ton from him at AC Sampson Chan. I recently found this photo in a box, brought back some good memories.
